The New Children’s Pathways team don’t expect any huge praise for our attempts. We don’t do this type of work to feed our ego’s. We definitely don’t do it for money or material reward. Got a message from a parent today, who by allowing their child to be part of the New Children’s Pathways has developed themselves as a parent.
Big thanks to our current student “Laura” for helping me out today with my group. Pick ups started at 7 and we both only got home at 9pm. That’s a huge effort even by my own standards. Putting smiles on kids faces the New Pathways way.
Week 4 of our little pilot youth club project we are tweaking things each week. We’ve learnt the target age group of the kids, the time to start/finish, positive activities, likes/dislikes, grouping considerations, health/safety concerns, volunteer training needs and much more. Great day today at the Regional Youth Mental Health Forum hosted at Lowood High School. Great to showcase the work we do and the lives we touch. Met some great kids who are interested in our work. Met some key contacts who can help us grow our organisation. Even found a new volunteer !! Exciting times for New Children’s Pathways
